GeoRef In development

v0.4 · georeferencing

Locate the model on real ground. Pick a point on the map, it becomes the model origin, and the best available satellite imagery and terrain drop in beneath it.

  • Clicked map point becomes SketchUp 0,0,0
  • Free, keyed and premium imagery: Esri, Sentinel‑2, MapTiler, Mapbox, Google
  • WGS84 (DD / DMS), UTM and South African Lo15–Lo33
  • Survey-point CSV import and DWG/DXF alignment

Bespoke development

Your workflow, built into SketchUp.

The ready-made extensions started as tools for real projects. If your office repeats the same twenty clicks every day, that is a tool waiting to be written.

ModuSmith writes custom Ruby extensions for SketchUp: batch tools, importers for your survey or CAD data, report generators, and company-standard drawing setups.

  1. Brief free

You describe the job and send a sample model. I reply with questions and a first recommendation before anything is promised.

  2. Specification

A written spec lists every tool, dialog and output, with a fixed quote per milestone. Nothing is coded until you agree it.

  3. Milestone builds

You install each stage as a dev .rbz and test it in your own SketchUp. Bug reports and screenshots feed straight into the next build.

  4. Delivery and support

The final signed .rbz, a short user guide, and three months of fixes. Source-code ownership is available on request.

MODELLER-MADE

Toolbars, inferencing and undo behave the way you already expect.

Questions

Before you buy

How do I install an extension?

In SketchUp open Extensions → Extension Manager → Install Extension, choose the .rbz file you downloaded and restart SketchUp. The toolbar appears under View → Toolbars.

Which SketchUp versions are supported?

SketchUp 2025 on Windows for all extensions, and SketchUp 2026 for GeoRef. macOS support is planned once the Windows builds are stable.

What does a beta or early-access licence mean?

You get the extension now at a lower price, plus every update up to and including version 1.0 at no extra cost.

Can I move my licence to a new computer?

Yes. Each licence covers two seats, and you can release a seat from your account at any time.

What does custom development cost?

Small utilities usually cost less than a week of a draughtsperson's time. Larger tools are quoted per milestone after the written specification, so you know the full price up front.
